Kathi Appelt writes
for all ages and is the author of more than 20 award-winning books for
children and young adults. Using slides and overheads, she leads presentation
for grade students, in-service workshops for teachers, and classes for
writers and parents. |

Kelly Goldman Bennett writes
books for children—both fiction and non-fiction. She holds a Master’s
Degree in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College
of Fine Arts. Recent books are DANCE Y'ALL DANCE a two-steppin',

Dance Hall romp (Bright Sky Press, 2009) and NOT NORMAN: A GOLDFISH
STORY (Candlewick Press, 2005), awarded the Texas Institute

Janet
S. Fox is a writer and
teacher. Janet became a children’s author in the mid-90s.
Her son’s learning differences led her to develop ideas described
in her book for Free Spirit Publishing, Get Organized Without
Losing It (2006). Her other published work for children includes
fiction (Spider
Magazine) and science non-fiction (Highlights for Children).
Her young adult novel, Faithful (Puffin/Penguin), debuts
in spring 2010, followed by a sequel in 2011. She is currently a student
in the MFA/Writing for
Children and Young Adults program at Vermont College of Fine Arts. Janet
lives with her husband and their high-school age son in College Station,
Texas. |

Sherry Garland is the
award-winning author of 27 books for children and teens, including The
Lotus Seed, Voices
of the Alamo,
Shadow of the Dragon and two Dear America books.
Her honors include Texas Bluebonnet List, Lone Star List, Reading Rainbow,
ALA Notable, BBYA, WWA Spur Award, Texas Institute

Kathy Whitehead has taught at the elementary level, served as a Regional
Advisor for Brazos Valley-SCBWI and holds a M. Ed. in Educational Administration
