About Us
SCBWI Brazos Valley is one of five Texas Regions of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, the international, professional organization for writers and illustrators of children's literature.

Join Us
Members join SCBWI through the executive office. Visit www.scbwi.org to sign up. Members of SCBWI automatically become members of the region where they live.

Our free email newsletter is sent to all regional members and is available to anyone interested in SCBWI Brazos Valley – non-members may email lizbmertz+scbwi@gmail.com to sign up.

We are able to offer free Schmoozes and open critique sessions through our Regional Subscription fees, which underwrite our operating expenses, including website maintenance. Published And Listed (PAL) subscribers may post their contact information on the “Authors” page of our website. SCBWI illustrator subscribers may post their work and contact information on the “Illustrators” page. Another benefit to subscribers is “first look” notification, along with regional members, when registration opens for regional events.

Current annual subscription fees are $18.00 for SCBWI members and $21.00 for non-members. To subscribe, please complete the Regional Subscriber Form and send it with payment to the address indicated.

Meetings
Our informal meetings (Schmoozes) are held on the last Wednesday of each month, January through October. For a complete program schedule click events.
